How to Connect to a Hotspot

Normal operation

  1. The venue SSID should be found automatically in your wireless card's configuration utility,
  2. Always open your web browser first and go to a URL, so redirection will take you to the Hotspot Registration/Login page.
  3. If you've already registered, simply login. If not, register with a valid email address. Later, you'll receive an email with a confirmation code that allows you to create a password and complete registration.
  4. If you keep browsing to the next venue landing page and beyond, then the gateway will open up for one hour, allowing all other TCP/IP functions such as email, chat, etc. This means you can still browse while waiting for the confirmation email, but remember to complete the registration process at your earliest convenience.
  5. After you respond to the confirmation email, you can login with your existing or newly established account and password.
  6. You must browse beyond the authentication page until you see the venue landing page banner. That is necessary to enable the viewing of any other Web pages or the use of TCP/IP services, such as email, chat, IM, FTP, streaming media, etc.
If all this fails to get you online, but other people seem to be online without difficulty, then there is probably an issue with your device. Look at the Self Help Center.
